Breeding with Psittacula Species starts with a pair of a Psittacula Species, for example a Indian Ring-necked parakeet Cock and a Hen. Give them a nestbox. With a little bit of luck the Hen will lay eggs and incubate them, which will hatch after a certain incubation period. As an evidence of captivity bred the chicks have to be ringed with closed banded metal rings. These rings can also be used for bird identification, which is preferred when mutation breeding is the case.
